Leicester City is being put up for sale for over £200m, according to a sales booklet produced by US investment bank Citigroup. The document, titled 'Project Lineup', lists the club's assets, including the 32,000-seat King Power Stadium and its Seagrave training facility, valued at £121m. The club's Thai owners have owned Leicester City since 2010, when they bought the club for £35m.
The club's turnover is forecast to be more than £97m for the 2026 financial year, according to Citigroup. Leicester City has a strong talent pipeline backed by leading scouting infrastructure, active transfer management and a highly developed academy system consistently producing top players. The club sold academy graduate Jeremy Monga to Manchester City for £10m last month.
Leicester City's debts include £103.6m in bank loans, and the club lost more than £180m in the years that it yo-yoed between the Premier League and Championship. The sale process comes after growing calls from disgruntled fans for the club to be sold. Leicester City will start their latest campaign in League One under head coach Russell Martin at Notts County on Saturday.
