Kishi Núñez, a key player for Boca Juniors and the Argentina women's national team, made the announcement on her social media accounts, stating that she needs to take a break to care for her mental health. The 20-year-old footballer explained that she has been struggling with her mental well-being for some time and has come to the realisation that she needs to take a step back to prioritise her own health.

According to Olé, Núñez has been playing football since she was young, starting at Almirante Brown and later joining Argentinos Juniors. She made her debut for Boca Juniors in 2022 and has since become a regular member of the Argentina women's national team, making her debut in May 2024 against Costa Rica. Núñez has also been nominated for the FIFA's Marta Award for one of her goals.

Núñez's decision to step away from football is not related to a loss of interest in the sport, but rather a necessary step to take care of her mental health. In her social media post, she expressed her gratitude to those who have supported her throughout her career and stated that she hopes this break will allow her to return stronger and healthier.

The next step for Kishi Núñez is to take a break from football and focus on her mental health.
