Kily González, a 52-year-old Argentine coach, has been appointed as the new manager of Inter Miami, where he will be in charge of Lionel Messi. This will be González's first international coaching experience and his fourth club as a manager. He previously coached Rosario Central, Unión, and Platense.

González has a strong connection with Messi, as they both played for the Argentina national team during Messi's early days. The two will now reunite in the Major League Soccer (MLS). González has a wealth of experience, having played for several top clubs, including Rosario Central, Boca, Zaragoza, Valencia, Inter Milan, and San Lorenzo.

As a coach, González has a 43.62% effectiveness at Rosario Central, where he managed 68 games, winning 25, drawing 14, and losing 29. He also had a 41.6% effectiveness at Unión, managing 77 games, winning 25, drawing 25, and losing 27. At Platense, he had a 26% effectiveness, managing 14 games, winning 2, drawing 5, and losing 7.

Inter Miami has been struggling recently, with four losses in their last five games. However, they still occupy the second spot in the Eastern Conference with 39 points, behind Nashville. Messi, who has a contract with Inter Miami until the end of 2028, will be looking to turn the team's fortunes around with González at the helm.
