The transfer was finalised on Tuesday, 22 September, several months after Módica joined Gimnasia y Esgrima Mza in January 2026. At the time, Gimnasia had purchased half of the player's contract and agreed a link with him until December 2029. The two institutions have now reached a new understanding to complete the transfer.
Agustín Módica, the Clausura's top scorer, has been a key player in Gimnasia's attack since joining the club. He has played 23 official matches for the Lobo, scoring 12 goals. His performance in the current championship is even more impressive, with eight goals in ten appearances and a lead in the top scorer table.
Módica's time at Rosario Central began in 2023, when he made his debut in the top division under Miguel Ángel Russo. His first stint with the professional team had some notable moments, but a 2024 injury interrupted his continuity. When he returned to competition, it took him time to find a stable place in the team and he eventually left the club at the start of 2026.
Gimnasia now owns Módica's contract in full, meaning the Italian-Argentine forward is entirely owned by the Mendocino institution. Rosario Central will play the Super Copa Internacional against Estudiantes this Saturday, while also continuing in the Torneo Clausura and competing in the Tabla Anual.
