The Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE) project, idealized during the management of Gianni Infantino, had been met with strong opposition from the Uefa. The project's proposal to privatize commercial assets related to the World Cup led to its withdrawal four days after it became public. The Uefa had not received a guarantee that a similar initiative would not be repeated in the future, prompting the threat of boycott.
Secret conversations between the Uefa and Fifa in the last weeks have led to the Fifa formalizing, by private correspondence, the commitment not to repeat a similar attempt to privatize assets related to the World Cup. The Uefa will discuss the issue on Thursday during a meeting of the Uefa Executive Committee and national federation directors in Monte Carlo. The meeting will also address the position of Gianni Infantino as president of the Fifa, with the Uefa maintaining its stance that he should step down.
