The new jersey, which was originally set to be launched in November, has been brought forward to Germany's match against the Netherlands in the League of Nations. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, coinciding with Jürgen Klopp's first game in charge of the team. The jersey features a black base with gold details, and the stripes are made up of small diamonds that represent the over 24,000 clubs in German football's grassroots.
The partnership between Adidas and Germany began in 1954, the year of their World Cup title. Since then, Adidas has been present at four World Cup wins (1954, 1974, 1990, and 2014) and European Championship campaigns. The relationship between the two is coming to an end, with Nike set to become the new supplier of Germany's national team from January 1, 2027. The contract with Nike will run until 2034 and is expected to be worth around 100 million euros per year.
