FIFA has accused UEFA of waging a "misinformation campaign" against Infantino, with the governing body urging a US court to reject a discovery request linked to a controversial investment proposal. The proposal, known as Fifa Forward Enterprise (FFE), was abandoned in July after opposition from confederations, including UEFA, over a lack of consultation.
FIFA has denied claims of FFE undervaluation, stating that UEFA's brief contained "numerous false or misleading statements about FIFA and Infantino". The governing body has also accused UEFA of trying to influence the presidential election, with Infantino up for re-election in March.
Infantino has proposed an independent review of FIFA's decision-making processes, writing to all 211 member associations last week. The move comes as FIFA alleges that UEFA's legal filings were an attempt to influence the election.
