The Maracana Stadium in Rio will host the opening match of the 2027 Women's World Cup on June 24. The Brazilian national team will play their first match of the tournament at the Maracana, while their other group stage matches will be held in Sao Paulo on June 29 and in Brasilia on July 4. The Maracana will become the third stadium in history to host both a men's and women's World Cup final, following the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, which hosted two women's World Cup finals in 1994 and 1999.

The 2027 Women's World Cup will feature 32 teams competing across eight host cities in Brazil, including Rio, Brasilia, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, and Sao Paulo. The French national team has qualified for the tournament. The Maracana Stadium has already hosted a men's World Cup final in 1958 and a women's World Cup final in 1995. The stadium will host a semi-final on July 21. The 2027 Women's World Cup final will be the first to take place at the Maracana Stadium.
