Two Dutch victories
The Dutch clubs enjoyed a strong evening in the third qualifying round of the Conference League. Ajax beat Shelbourne 3-1 in Amsterdam. FC Twente were far too strong for DAC 1904 in Enschede and finished with a 6-0 victory.
Ajax take an advantage
NOS reports that Ajax made the difference against Shelbourne, with Mika Godts playing an important role. The 3-1 score gives the Amsterdam club a clear advantage, but the second leg still has to be played. Qualification is not official yet.
Twente close to the next round
NU.nl reports that FC Twente gave DAC very little room. Six goals and a clean sheet mean the return should mainly be about finishing the job professionally. The tie will still only be decided after the second match.
These are important results for Dutch football in Europe. Both clubs remain on course for the next round and have created excellent positions before the return legs. FCInside will follow the decisive fixtures and update its coverage when the next results arrive.
