FC Utrecht has made a bid for Tadjidina Mmadi, a 19-year-old French youth international who played for Marseille's B-team last season. Mmadi has also made his Champions League debut against Atalanta Bergamo. The Dutch club sees Mmadi as a player for the future and is willing to invest in his development.
The bid is a significant amount, coming close to the record purchase of Alexander Gerndt, who cost 4.8 million euros in 2011. Mmadi is currently under contract with Marseille until 2031. Another club, Troyes, which is part of the City Football Group, is also interested in Mmadi, which could create a challenge for FC Utrecht in the transfer market.
