FC Emmen's victory marked their second win of the season and saw them take the lead in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. The match got off to a flying start, with FC Emmen taking the lead after just two minutes. Diego Pugno, on loan from Juventus, scored his first goal for Jong Ajax, but this was short-lived as Freddy Quispel equalised just three minutes later. The match was a goal-fest, with both teams creating numerous chances throughout the game.

FC Emmen managed to turn a 3-1 deficit at halftime into a 6-4 lead, thanks in part to Jack Cooper-Love's three goals. Quispel also scored twice for Jong Ajax, while Pugno and Emre Ünüvar added two more for the Amsterdam-based team. The result sees FC Emmen join Heracles Almelo and MVV Maastricht as the only teams with a perfect record in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. Jong AZ also secured a win, with Ayoub Oufkir scoring three goals in their 5-2 victory over De Graafschap. Vitesse, meanwhile, won 3-1 against Jong FC Utrecht, with Naoufal Bannis scoring two goals and Alexander Büttner missing a crucial penalty in the dying minutes of the match.
