Christian Eriksen's contract with VfL Wolfsburg has been terminated with immediate effect. The 34-year-old player wants to be with his family in Denmark after suffering a second health issue during a football match last summer. Since then, Eriksen has not played a single minute. NOS Voetbal reports that Eriksen collapsed during a Denmark training match against Ukraine in June. This incident has left many concerned, as Eriksen had a heart stoppage five years ago, which led to an ICD, an under-the-skin defribilator, being implanted in his body. The device seemed to have gone off during the match against Ukraine, according to Denmark's team doctor. Eriksen himself stated that the incident was different from the first time.
