The 34-year-old former Arsenal midfielder has signed with Levadiakos, who are currently rock bottom of the division. Elneny was a free agent after leaving UAE club Al Jazira in the summer and is now looking to try and save his new side from the drop. In a message to the fans, he said: “Hello everyone, I have signed with Greek club Levadiakos. I am very happy to start my career here. I hope things go well. I will give my best for this team. Levadiakos fans, I’ll see you in the next match. I am very excited to start my career with the club.”
Levadiakos have started the season with one draw and four defeats, and are yet to score a goal, but Elneny is confident he can make a difference. The team has already played Greek big hitters PAOK, Olympiakos and Panathinaikos as well.
