Danilo began his coaching career at Corinthians, where he won the Copinha with the under-20 team and led the side to victory in the Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior in 2024. He also served as an assistant coach at the club's professional team and briefly took charge as interim head coach. However, after a poor start in the 2024 Brasileirão sub-20, Danilo was let go.

In 2026, Danilo accepted the invitation to manage Pouso Alegre in the Estadual and had an incredible start to his coaching career. Although the team was eliminated by Cruzeiro in the semifinals, they celebrated their first-ever Mineiro do Interior title. With the contract expiring, Danilo chose not to renew with the team from Sul de Minas and became a free agent.

Danilo then joined Uberlândia after the departure of coach Rogério Henrique. Following a defeat in his first match, Danilo began preparing the team for the knockout stage. Uberlândia eliminated Rio Branco-ES, Serra Branca-PB, and Portuguesa before facing CSA in the quarterfinals. With victories in Uberlândia and a 2-0 win in Maceió, Danilo secured promotion and a spot in the semifinals.

Now, Uberlândia is competing in the semifinals against ABC in two matches, in Uberlândia and Natal. If they progress, the team will contest the Série D title. Gama and ASA-AL are potential opponents in a possible final.
