Omar Da Fonseca, a 66-year-old commentator, has joined Disney+ to cover La Liga. He will be joined by Julien Brun, a 48-year-old commentator who has previously worked for beIN, Prime Video, and DAZN. Brun had a quiet season last year, but was given the opportunity to commentate on the 2026 World Cup alongside Samuel Umtiti on M6 this summer.
Brun and Da Fonseca will be commentating on the biggest matches in La Liga for Disney+, which has secured the rights to broadcast the Spanish league for the next three seasons. This includes the opening match of the season, Alaves vs Getafe, which takes place on Saturday 15 August at 7:30pm. The Real Madrid and Barcelona will resume their seasons on Wednesday 26 August and Thursday 27 August, respectively, at 9pm.
In addition to Brun and Da Fonseca, Disney+ will also be using other commentators to cover the remaining matches. Alban Lepoivre will be commentating on the match between Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano on Saturday at 9pm.
