Voetbal International reports that negotiations between Club Brugge and Al-Ahli are progressing positively, with both clubs nearing an agreement. Dams himself is also open to the move, which could be completed this week. The Belgian defender made a surprise move from PSV to Al-Ahli in January 2025, but his time in the Middle East appears to be coming to an end after just over a year and a half. Al-Ahli paid around 9 million euros to sign Dams from PSV at the time.
Dams' move to Al-Ahli was seen as a significant transfer, but he has struggled to establish himself in the team. The 22-year-old is now expected to return to Europe, where he will join a Club Brugge side looking to rebuild after the departure of Meijer. The Dutch defender was sold to Sampdoria by Club Brugge, and Dams is seen as his natural replacement.
