Caio Roque was contracted by Botafogo in March to provide additional options for the left-back position, alongside Alex Telles and Marçal. However, he failed to impress coach Franclim Carvalho, making only six appearances for the club. As a result, he was placed on the list of negotiables during the transfer window, following the arrival of Paulinho, another left-back.

The 25-year-old had a contract with Botafogo until the end of 2026, having previously played for Flamengo, Lommel SK in Belgium, and several Brazilian clubs including Bahia, Londrina, Volta Redonda, and Portuguesa.

Caio Roque's release from Botafogo is now confirmed, with the club's next step being to find a new left-back to replace him.
