The BBC has secured the rights to broadcast 38 live matches from Italy's Serie A this season, with the first match taking place on Sunday. The match, Atalanta v Sassuolo, will be broadcast on BBC ALBA and BBC iPlayer at 19:35 BST. BBC ALBA will provide Gaelic and English co-commentary for 19 live games, while a further 19 live games will be streamed on BBC iPlayer with English commentary.
Former Hibernian pair Kieron Bowie and Josh Doig will be in the Sassuolo squad for the trip to Bergamo. Napoli star Scott McTominay remains the main Scottish draw in Serie A, while fellow Scotland midfielder Lewis Ferguson is preparing for his fifth campaign with Bologna. England defenders Djed Spence and John Stones have joined champions Inter Milan this summer, and will be looking to make an impact in the league.
The BBC's coverage of Serie A adds to the corporation's European football portfolio, which already features Bundesliga and La Liga clips. The deal includes the participation of several Scottish and English players in Serie A, including Torino striker Che Adams and Udinese teenager Lennon Miller.
