According to Globo Esporte Futebol, the main obstacle in the negotiations is a financial issue. The Russian club wants to include a debt owed by Atlético-MG to CSKA in the deal, which is related to the transfer of Bruno Fuchs. This debt amounts to around five million euros, approximately R$ 29.5 million, and would be deducted from the amount paid for Cuello. However, this debt is still pending in the FIFA system and has yet to be resolved.
Atlético-MG is currently classified for the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil and the quarterfinals of the South American Cup. The club considers it difficult to find a replacement for Cuello, given the importance of the tournaments and the goal of returning to the Libertadores in 2027. The transfer window closes next Friday, and other major markets have already completed their transfer periods, making it challenging for Atlético-MG to find a suitable replacement for Cuello.
