Aston Villa has been tracking Suzuki for two years and sees him as the ideal replacement for Emiliano Martínez, who is reportedly on the verge of leaving the club. Juventus has made a new bid for Martínez, with the Italian club willing to pay a maximum of 10 million euros. Suzuki's transfer is initially worth 30 million euros, but can rise to 35 million euros through bonuses. The 23-year-old goalkeeper is expected to sign a contract with Aston Villa until 2031.
Suzuki made his move from Urawa Red Diamonds to Parma in 2024 and quickly established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper, making 57 Serie A appearances over the past two seasons. He also played a key role for Japan during the 2026 World Cup, starting all four matches. Suzuki's background is diverse, having been born in Newark, New Jersey, to a Ghanaian father and a Japanese mother.
The transfer deal is now set to be completed, with Suzuki expected to join Aston Villa in the coming weeks.
