Boualin stated that the player in question will face NEC in the Champions League play-offs this week. The player is reportedly from Norwegian club FK Bodø/Glimt. Bodø/Glimt is indeed playing NEC in the play-offs, suggesting that the player in question is Norwegian midfielder Patrick Berg. Berg's profile matches the description given by Boualin, who is looking for a player to fill Ajax's number 6 role. The Norwegian midfielder has experience playing in the Champions League and has been a key player for Bodø/Glimt.
The Champions League play-offs between Bodø/Glimt and NEC will take place this week, providing a chance for Ajax to assess Berg's performance.
