Josip Sutalo has taken a step towards leaving Ajax. The 26-year-old defender has posted a farewell message on Instagram, thanking the club for the time he spent there. Sutalo confirms he will join Lazio, but has not yet been officially presented by the Italian club.
Sutalo thanks his teammates, coaches, staff, and fans for their support. He expresses his gratitude for being an Ajax player and wishes the club the best for the upcoming season. Initially, Sutalo will join Lazio on loan. The Italian club will cover Sutalo's full salary and pay Ajax a loan fee of 3 million euros.
Lazio has a fixed purchase option of 7.5 million euros for Sutalo. His purchase price could rise to between 12 and 15 million euros through easily achievable bonuses. Ajax has agreed a 10% resale percentage with Lazio. Sutalo was signed by Ajax in the summer of 2023 for 22 million euros and had a successful season under Francesco Farioli. According to Voetbalzone, Sutalo's move to Lazio is now confirmed.
